Feature!

For our feature in Ms. Finch's class it had to be something funny of a kid or animal doing something.Well one night this week i was watching my baby cousin when we went to eat dinner and he got a lemon off of a plate and decided he was going to put it in his mouth. It was so funny. I had to take a picture because it was cute and his face well it was priceless. I wanted to use this picture but I haven't shown it to Ms. Finch yet so we will see.

Flash Fill!

How do you do Flash fill outside? Well watch the video and find out. Helps out. In Ms. Finch's class we are now learning how to do flash fill. I am hoping it will go well. We will see. I am going to have to use someones flash if any of you will let me. I don't have one :( .

Photography lessons on Silhouette Photography

Silhouette photography refers to images where a part of the image is blacked out. That is, the background is bright while the foreground subject is completely black due to exposure differences. Silhouette photography happens most often by accident in sunset and sunrise shots. It also happens accidentally with some regularity in snapshots when something bright is behind the subject. Silhouette photography can create beautiful images when used deliberately and is not that difficult to master.

I might want the D300! Still thinking!

The photographer at Arlington used the D300. That would be a nice camera to have since I only have the D40 right now. I really want a new body and maybe a nice flash. Here is a video review of the D300.

My day at Arlington!

The Guard was talking to my Uncle Ross who is the next kin in line for the flag. This was a very sad moment for my family and I.I got some really good pictures of them carrying my papaw in and of the Guards folding the flag and firing. I will be working on these pictures when I get back to school.

Ideas for Arlington!

I have been looking at pictures from Arlington for ideas for tomorrow. As some of you know my Papaw died the night of the Portfolio Show. We are now in Washington DC and going to bury him at Arlington tomorrow afternoon at 3:30. We have hired a photographer so I wouldn't have to take all the pictures for my family. I am hoping to get some pictures like the one above. I am also hoping to get some really nice shots to go into my Portfolio. I would think that would be nice to have something from my grandfathers funeral to either just be in my portfolio or actually hang. We will see!!
